Ben Hose

I’m Ben, a designer and illustrator specializing in visual systems, branding, packaging, and custom illustration. I focus on creating cohesive design solutions that work across formats, especially for packaging that has to adapt and stay consistent as it grows into other applications. I pay attention to how designs scale and how small details shape a brand’s identity, making sure that every element feels intentional.

I’ve worked in both agency and freelance settings, which has given me experience across a wide range of projects and clients. Most of my recent work has been in the craft food and beverage space, where I’ve designed packaging systems, can labels, merchandise, POS materials, and other brand assets. I also run a freelance design and illustration practice, working with clients in the entertainment industry, providing design solutions for Amazon, collaborating on print projects with Gallery 1988, and producing a large-scale mural for Holland Partner Group. Over the years, this mix of work has given me a broad view of different creative challenges and the variety of work involved in design and production.

I enjoy working on beverage design because it combines creativity with practical constraints. A can label has to work on its own but also adapt to cartons, POS, and other formats, which makes the design process interesting. I like thinking about how designs scale, stay consistent, and maintain character across different applications. It’s also so satisfying to see work go from concept to the shelf relatively quickly, giving a tangible sense of how designs perform in the real world.
